All this time later, I still don’t have the words to explain how profoundly grief changed me. I’m not a big fan of the G-WORD. It’s an industrious little word, what with all the griefwork, griefshare, gobs of books, programs and groups for grieving. After a while, the industry of it starts to feel smarmy. Grief, it would seem. is more marketable than sorrow, or mourning or bereft, more important that little old loss.
